In a strong assertion of India’s counter-terrorism resolve, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday declared that Operation Sindoor has demonstrated to the world that India follows a strict, no-compromise approach against terrorism. Addressing a centenary event commemorating the historic meeting between Mahatma Gandhi and Sree Narayana Guru, PM Modi said his government will continue taking decisive action in the national interest and has worked consistently over the past 11 years to strengthen India socially, economically, and militarily.
Operation Sindoor Reflects India’s Offensive Strategy Against Terror
Without directly naming Pakistan, the Prime Minister referred to India’s swift retaliatory actions following the brutal killing of civilians in Pahalgam. He revealed that the Indian military, using indigenously developed weapons, carried out a successful precision strike on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, delivering results in just 22 minutes.
He remarked, “No hideout is safe for terrorists who spill Indian blood.” PM Modi hailed India’s growing defence capabilities and noted that such operations were a clear message that terrorism would face an uncompromising response. He also expressed confidence that Indian-made defence systems will soon earn global recognition.
India Becoming Self-Reliant in Defence and Social Infrastructure
The Prime Minister emphasized that India is steadily reducing its reliance on foreign defence imports and progressing towards aatmanirbharta (self-reliance). He cited a steady rise in the production and deployment of Indian-manufactured weapons as a sign of the country’s advancing military self-sufficiency.
He also highlighted his government’s achievements in social welfare, including housing, drinking water access, and health insurance for the underprivileged, stating that these initiatives have empowered marginalized communities. PM Modi pointed out that more institutions like IITs, IIMs, and AIIMS have been established in the last 11 years than ever before, signaling the government’s focus on inclusive development.
Reiterating the vision of social reformer Sree Narayana Guru, Modi said the spiritual leader had envisioned an India that is powerful and free of discrimination, and his government is working in that direction.
In his speech, the Prime Minister wove together themes of national security, defence self-reliance, and social upliftment, offering a broad vision of a strong, empowered India equipped to counter both external threats and internal disparities.
