The classic card game UNO has found a new home at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, where the world’s first UNO Social Club has officially opened to the public. Designed as a space that blends nostalgic gameplay with themed entertainment, the UNO Social Club marks Mattel’s latest move to bring the iconic game into real-world social settings, according to a report by Esports.
The venue offers themed rooms, customized UNO game tables, and a full-fledged suite experience for guests. According to the Palms, the initiative is aimed at creating a space for fans of the game to engage in "friendly competition" while enjoying a unique, immersive environment.
“We created UNO Social Clubs to reimagine what game night can be, bringing people together for real-world fun, connection, and a bit of friendly competition. The UNO Social Club in Las Vegas is just the beginning, and we’re excited to see how these new experiences inspire players to show up, play hard, and make unforgettable memories,” Ray Adler, Vice President and Global Head of Games at Mattel, said to Esports.
In addition to the main suite and lounge areas, the club includes an UNO-themed bowling alley and exclusive game variants designed to offer new challenges beyond the original rules. These new formats are aimed at both casual fans and seasoned players.
Among the featured variants:
- UNO Golf: Players aim for the lowest score by discarding high-value cards laid out face-up. The game still follows traditional UNO rules of matching colors and numbers.
- UNO Teams: Pairs of players work together to empty both their hands. Coordination and timing are key to victory.
- UNO Show ’em No Mercy: A more intense version with extra cards, tougher penalties, and the option to win by either discarding all cards or knocking out opponents.
As per the report, the launch was accompanied by a contest that offered one winner a three-day stay in the UNO Social Club suite. With the event now concluded, the suite remains open for general bookings.
Mattel plans to expand the UNO Social Club concept across major US cities. According to the Palms Casino, upcoming pop-ups in select bars and entertainment venues will include themed décor, signature drinks inspired by UNO’s signature color palette, and game tournaments for local audiences.
The expansion is part of Mattel’s broader strategy to adapt its legacy game brands into experiential formats. As demand for in-person, interactive entertainment returns, initiatives like the UNO Social Club are targeting both millennials and new audiences through nostalgia and innovation.
