Aston Villa fans believe Emiliano Martinez is set to leave the club this summer after the Argentine appeared to be in tears following the team's last home game of the season against . The goalkeeper was seen looking emotional after the 2-0 win over Spurs as he applauded the supporters.
And some fans have theorised he was saying goodbye to the home support amid links to clubs.
Martinez had tears in his eyes after acknowledging the fans after what was Villa's final home match of the season, leading to speculation on social media.
After seeing the emotional scenes, one fan wrote: "It’s the greatest shame that Emi Martinez is obviously going to Saudi at the end of the season. Burst out crying once he was clapped the fans. It’s been a privilege and an honour and I hope he somehow doesn’t leave. The worlds Number 1!
A second supporter said: "Replacing Emi Martinez would be a massive task if he is leaving. The best GK I’ve ever seen play for the Villa & it’s not even close."

Another added: "Emi Martínez is my favourite Villa player ever. Only James Chester comes remotely close. The man has embodied everything I want in an player. I beg this is not the end."
Villa are reportedly ready to sell Martinez, having established good contacts with the after offloading Jhon Duran to Al-Nassr in January.
Espanyol's Joan Garcia has been linked with a move to Villa Park as a possible replacement, but are also believed to be in the race.
