Former Premier League striker Troy Deeney has told Bruno Fernandes to "smash" Alejandro Garnacho in training after the Manchester United star posted a photo of himself wearing an Aston Villa shirt.
Garnacho is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer, having been told to find a new club by Ruben Amorim after publicly sharing his frustration at being left out of the starting line-up for the Europa League final.
And the 20-year-old raised some eyebrows after sharing a series of snaps from his holiday to Ibiza on social media, including one of him wearing a Villa shirt with Marcus Rashford's name and number on the back.
Rashford is also expected to leave United, having spent the second half of last season on loan at Villa after he was frozen out at Old Trafford by Amorim. Although it has been claimed Garnacho's post was only meant to show support for Rashford, there has been plenty of backlash.
And ex-Watford captain Deeney believes Garnacho needs a "clip around the ear" and branded the winger a "little dope". When asked about the post on talkSPORT, Deeney said: "They obviously think they've got a move lined up.

"It's a new generation so I've got to be careful not to sound like the old, grumpy man. But he needs a clip around the ear. Give him a clip around the ear. He's bored and has got no respect.
"If it was me at United, if I was Fernandes, I'd wait until he came back and smash him in training. I genuinely would. I'm not even trying to make headlines, I'd smash him and say to him, 'this is Man United, who do you think you are you little dope?'"
The likes of Napoli and Chelsea have been linked with a move for Garnacho and reports have claimed that the player would like to stay in the Premier League and favours a move to London.

Chelsea are in the market for a new winger after Mykhailo Mudryk was charged by the Football Association over a failed drugs test, with the Ukraine international now facing a four-year ban from football.
"We had already one entire season already without Mischa. We are going to decide to go for a winger," Blues boss Enzo Maresca said. "In both cases, we have Noni Madueke and Pedro Neto as proper wingers, then we try to adapt with Tyrique George. It's a position we need to improve.
"I spoke with Mischa in Poland when we played the Conference League final. I haven't spoken with him since then. I didn't see the news but it was communicated to me. There's nothing more I can add because I don’t have more information."
