Spanish side Las Palmas have announced the death of 23-year-old star Zeben Ramos just weeks after he was left in a coma following a horror car crash. The young defender was involved in a horrendous smash on June 9 that left him in a coma.
He was unconscious for around two weeks before unfortunately passing away due to his injuries. In a statement, Las Palmas said: "UD Las Palmas deeply regret having to announce the passing of Zebensui Ramos Gonzalez, known in football as Zeben.
"The Las Palmas C team player, aged 23, was unable to overcome the severe injuries he sustained in a tragic collision on June 9 at Arucas on Gran Canaria.
"A versatile left-sided defender with great prospects, Zeben stood out due to his commitment, character and ability to adapt to various defensive roles.
"His non-stop hard work and his attitude on and off the pitch earned him the chance to repeatedly train with [reserve team] Las Palmas Atletico.

"We wish to convey our deepest condolences to his family, friends and teammates, and to everyone who accompanied him during his football career. The entire Yellows family unites in grief at Zeben's loss. He will forever remain in our hearts."
The club held a minute silence ahead of Friday's training session to remember their team-mate. Ramos only moved to the Gran Canarian side in January 2024 and went on to play for the reserve side.
Following the announcement, a number of kind words from fellow Spanish sides followed in response. La Liga side Sevilla were one of those as they replied: "Sevilla Fútbol Club expresses its condolences for the passing of Zeben Ramos to all his family and loved ones, as well as to UD Las Palmas. Rest in peace."
Celta Vigo added: "From RC Celta, we wish to express our deepest condolences to @UDLP_Oficial, their fans , and the family and loved ones of Zeben Ramos. Much strength in these difficult times. Rest in peace, Zeben."
Espanyol replied: "From RCD Espanyol, we wish to express our deepest condolences to all the family and colleagues of Zeben Ramos, as well as to UD Las Palmas. RIP."
Las Palmas are set to play in the second tier of Spanish football next season after being relegated from La Liga. They eventually finished nine points adrift of safety after winning just eight games throughout the campaign. The Spanish side only returned to La Liga in 2023 following a five-year exile.
