Heartbreaking real reason Stephanie Davis and boyfriend split just months after she gave birth

Stephanie Davis recently split from her boyfriend just months after giving birth, now the reason has been revealed. The Hollyoaks actress left fans stunned this weekend when she confirmed that she and Joe McKalroy, whom she had previously called "The One", had parted ways, leaving her completely devastated.

The devastating news came four months after Stephanie gave birth to their son, Samuel. From the outside, it appeared that the couple were madly in love with one another and didn't refrain from sharing this on social media.

But reports now claim that Stephanie believed Joe wasn't pulling his weight with the family, sparking tension and arguments which had been ongoing for some time. Joe had also acted as a doting step-dad to Stephanie's first son, Caben, throughout their relationship.

"Joe has already moved out of the home he was sharing with Steph," a source said. They went on to tell The Sun: "It came after weeks of arguments between the couple and it all got too much.

"Essentially, there was a lot of tension as Steph felt like Joe wasn’t actually ready to he a dad and wasn't pulling his weight. It's really sad, especially with a new baby, but Steph is just focusing on her boys now." On Sunday, Stephanie took to her Instagram to share the news that she and Joe had decided to part ways.

It came following weeks of speculation surrounding their relationship after Stephanie failed to acknowledge Joe in a Father's Day post. The soap star said: "Never in a million years did I think I'd be writing this. I've been left with no choice but to address the rumours."

She continued: "This has come as a complete shock and has been an incredibly painful and unexpected time. Just four months after having a baby - one of the most vulnerable and emotional times in a woman's life - I've found myself facing this chapter on my own."

Hinting at her past troubled romance with reality star Jeremy McConnell, with whom she shared a seven-year-old son, she went on: "After everything I've been through in the past, I truly believed I'd finally found my happiness - something secure and lasting. But that, heartbreakingly, hasn't been the case."

Stephanie went on to write: "I'm grateful for the years we had because without us I wouldn't have my Samuel. Who will always be my priority." And she concluded: "Right now, I'm focusing on healing, protecting my peace, and doing the best I can - being there for my two beautiful boys. Thank you to those who've reached out - your kindness has meant more than I can say. Stephanie X."

On Father's Day, Stephanie shared a photograph of herself and her dad in a moving post but failed to mention Joe. She also shared her journey with her young son, Samuel, and again failed to acknowledge her now ex-boyfriend.

The Mirror has approached Stephanie and Joe for comment.
