During a 1999 chat with ABC, Melania, who was still courting Donald at the time, revealed her expectations of him securing the presidency with herself as First Lady, vowing to maintain conventional principles similar to those of Jackie Kennedy or Betty Ford.
Whether through feminine instinct or pure determination, Melania's forecasts have certainly come to fruition -- not once, but twice. The revelation emerges as reports suggest Melania Trump might witness Vanity Fair returning cap in hand to feature her as their cover sensation.
In 1999, Melania, then a single 26 year old, featured on ABC during a fundraising drive for North Shore Animal League America.

Throughout the discussion, the Slovenian model, whose bridal gown was allegedly available for purchase on eBay, was questioned about whether she could picture herself as First Lady, to which she replied positively, "Yes.", reports the Mirror US, reports the Express.
Melania lauded Donald, declaring: "He's very smart. He knows how to do business. He would be a great leader."
She additionally promised to "support" and "stand by" her prospective spouse, declaring: "I would be very traditional, like Jackie Kennedy and Betty Ford."
Even during 1999, Melania pictured herself occupying the role of First Lady.
During the interview, she confessed to being "in love" with the businessman, characterising him as "very kind" and "very charming". Years on, Melania revisited the topic of becoming the First Lady in a subsequent interview conducted shortly after her husband declared his intention to run for the US Presidency for the first time.
In a chat with People Magazine, she noted: "It's a long road. I take it day by day. My husband has a lot of people cheering for him. We will see."
Trump told the magazine: "(Melania) would be an amazing representative for our country ... I could see her being very involved in women's health issues."
She likened herself to Jackie Kennedy and Betty Ford, stating, "She's an elegant person with a very big heart. She's very calm and confident, very warm and very beautiful."
More recently, a Democrat has caused a stir by suggesting that Melania Trump should be deported. California Representative Maxine Waters proposed that Melania Trump be sent back to her home country as President Donald Trump and his administration have been focusing on criticising and deporting immigrants.
Waters proclaimed: "If he wants to start looking so closely to find those who were born here and their parents were undocumented, maybe he ought to first look at Melania.
"When he [Trump] talks about birthright, and he's going to undo the fact that the Constitution allows those who are born here, even if the parents are undocumented, they have a right to stay in America."
Regarding Melania, she went on to remark: "We don't know whether or not her parents were documented. And maybe we better just take a look."
