Wednesday is missing one key Addams family member but that could all change in season 3

Wednesday season two is on Netflix and the latest instalment of the Addams Family adaptation has gone down a huge hit with fans.

With thefinale full of shocking twists and storylines left open to explore, viewers are eager to find out what might happen in the third outing.

Alfred Gough, co-creator and showrunner, said season three will push the cast and crew even further, teasing appearances by more Addams Family favourites.

He told Netflix's Tudum: “Our goal for season three is the same as it is for every season: to make it the best season of Wednesday we possibly can.

“We want to continue digging deeper into our characters while expanding the world of Nevermore and Wednesday.” Miles Millar, co-creator, added: “We will be seeing more Addams family members and learning more family secrets in season three.”

One of the main family members who is yet to be introduced in person is Cousin Itt.

The character, infamous for being covered with long, shaggy hair, was made specifically for the 1964 television series but became a regular supporting character in adaptations that followed.

He is recognised for his hairy appearance and his bowler hat, and speaks high-pitched gibberish that only his gamily can understand.

Cousin Itt was introduced in the original TV series as Gomez's cousin, and in Netflix's Wednesday, one of his ancestors appears in a portrait at Nevermore Academy.

The portrait is titled "Ignatius Itt", after the right-hand man to Nathaniel Faulkner, who founded Nevermore Academy.

Interestingly, he was known for starting a romance with Morticia's sister, Ophelia Frump, who will feature in the show's third season after she was unveiled in the season two finale.

In the original Addams Family series, Ophelia almost wed her brother-in-law Gomez as part of an arranged marriage - a family tradition.

However, Ophelia then fell for Cousin Itt and left Gomez to marry Morticia.

Viewers will have to wait and see whether Cousin Itt appears alongside Ophelia in season three.
