Wednesday star tells Jenna Ortega it's 'all your fault' as 'pressure' mounts for crucial season 2 scene

Wednesday season two features yet another epic dance sequence but this time around, it’s got nothing to do with Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams.

When season one of the Netflix sensation came out three years ago, subscribers were hooked with Jenna Ortega’s dance to Goo Goo Muck by The Cramps.

The scene helped to launch the Tim Burton creation into the stratosphere, securing its future for a second season and most recently confirmed, a third.

Season two’s second half has now dropped on Netflix where Principal Dort’s (Steve Buscemi) Nevermore Academy gala finally takes place.

But while it was Wednesday who showed off her dancing abilities in the first series, it is Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers) and Agnes DeMille’s (Evie Templeton) turn to take to the dance floor.

Enid was meant to be dancing with Bruno (Noah B Taylor) but since their romance is up in the air, she decided to ask Agnes who looked like she needed a friend.

Talking about the impact of the series one dance scene, Wednesday’s choreographer Corey Baker told Screen Time: “Isn’t it amazing that Alfred [Gough] and Miles [Millar], our showrunners, famously say ‘We never predicted that our show would be synonymous with viral dance’ that was never the plan.

“And I loved that that happened, it’s given me a job, so that’s great.”

He then shared a personal moment he had with Ortega while they were shooting the season two dance scene.

Baker continued: “When we were filming the dance, Jenna’s [Ortega] obviously not in it, there’s moments we see her but those were actually filmed separately so she wanted to see the dance being filmed.

“So she came down and she was standing next to me and Tim [Burton] and we were filming an element of it and I saw her smiling and she would say something like ‘This is crazy’.

“And I looked at her and said ‘You know this is all your fault’ and we had a good laugh about that as it’s because she did this amazing dance that went so viral that there’s this need or want or pressure or desire for another one in season two.

“I felt totally OK about tackling that and I think we did something very new and something different that hopefully people will enjoy just the same.”
