It is worth noting that Lalit Modi has serious allegations like contractual irregularities in IPL, money laundering and FEMA violation. He left the country and went to London in 2010, when investigation of financial irregularities started against him.

Vijay Mallya is accused of fraud in a loan of Rs 9,000 crore taken from banks. This loan is related to his defunct Kingfisher Airlines. Mallya left the country in 2016 and went to the UK and in 2019 he was officially declared a fugitive economic offender. The presence of both the controversial personalities on the same platform and sharing videos of them having fun is going viral on social media, which is again raising the question whether people who have fled from the law are outside the purview of law abroad?
