New holidays to overlooked Spanish city with 35C summer heat and £1.69 pints

has added a new Spanish city to its holiday package, and it's one that boasts hot weather and cheap prices. The city of is located Spain's southeastern province of Murcia and according to , the destination is "an unknown province, even for the Spanish". The underrated hidden gem is often overlooked by UK holidaymakers who opt for trips to Spain's more popular destinations including Barcelona, , and Majorca.

However, Murcia has recently seen a rise in popularity, with a whopping 1,796% increase in holiday searches since 2019, according to Skyscanner. Additionally, the region has hit record numbers this year, with approximately 300,000 tourists visiting between January and March.

Now, Brits get to make the most out of the incredible destination that is often dubbed the Garden of Europe credited to its two million square metres of parks and gardens. The warm weather can see temperatures reach as high as 35C in the summer, and it's cheap to visit to where you can find for around two euros, equivalent to £1.69.

The Jet2CityBreaks new holiday package will operate from , flying to Alicante, Spain. Holidaymakers can then visit Murcia with multiple three and four star hotels included in the deal.

Options include three nights at the four-star Catalonia Conde de Flordiablanca, which houses a rooftop bar, for £239 each, with flight included.

A cheaper deal is a three-night stay next month at the three-star El Churra, costing £209 per person.
