Prince William cheekily corrects King Charles at big royal event

Prince William played a big role in the French state visit to the UK yesterday as he stepped out to support his father King Charles. The Prince of Wales, 43, accompanied by his wife Princess Kate, was chosen to formally greetFrench President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte at RAF Northolt on Tuesday morning.

From here, William and Kate travelled with the French couple to Windsor, where they were then greeted by the monarch, 76, and Queen Camilla, 77, on a royal dias just a stone's throw from Windsor Castle. While this may be a formal occasion, the couples could not help but exchange in some friendly chit-chat, with William even seen cheekily correcting his father during one quick conversation.

On the dias, where the royals and their French guests gathered before taking a carriage procession to Windsor, President Macron could not help but comment on William's impressive height.

Lip reader Nicola Hickling told the Sun that the French president said: "He is incredibly tall."

This prompted the King to then reportedly say: "He is very tall. He's six foot one, he is, ever so."

However, it is believed the King did not quite get his facts right, which saw him get corrected by William.

As reported by The Sun, William told his father with a grin: "Actually, I'm six foot three."

The French president is not the first to comment on Prince William's height, with royal fans over the years having complimented the future King for this trait.

Royal fans often take to X to talk about just how tall William is, with one fan recently saying: "Can you actually believe how tall Prince William is?"

Another recently posted: "Wow Prince William is tall."
