Down Cemetery Road has just launched on AppleTV+ with the two-part premiere proving to be a massive success amongst audiences.

Fresh episodes will drop each week for the gripping mystery thriller, which centres on local resident Sarah Tucker (portrayed by Ruth Wilson) as she enlists the services of a private detective.

After a mysterious blast rocks her community, leading to a young girl's disappearance, she seeks assistance from Zoe Boehm (Emma Thompson) to uncover the truth.

The stellar cast features in an adaptation of the first instalment from Herron's Zoe Boehm collection, which spans four books.

The programme has already garnered numerous five-star ratings, with audiences describing it as "riveting" and "terrific".

Writing on Google Reviews, Maryleigh commented: "First episode was terrific. Wonderful script and acting. I really like it so far!"

Lainie Nelson remarked: "Great actors. Lively dialogue Emma Thompson is her usual brilliant self. Where are the next episodes?"

Brandon Strickland also awarded it five stars, noting: "Thought provoking, creatively tasteful and wonderfully cast. So far it's riveting!"

The Guardian awarded a five-star critique, commending Emma Thompson in her portrayal of the straight-talking private detective Boehm.

Lucy Mangan wrote: "Boehm is a role model for ladies everywhere, but especially those hampered by a lack of innate cynicism or by a people-pleasing nature (or early training). Look at Boehm and learn."

She added: "Down Cemetery Road is great stuff. There is not a wasted moment, not a wasted word."

The series was brought to life by Morwenna Banks, a renowned British actress, comedian and writer, best known for her work on Slow Horses.

Production kicked off in Bristol in June 2024, with the series boasting a star-studded cast including Adeel Akhtar, Adam Godley and Tom Goodman-Hill, amongst others.
