Royal fans have issued a complaint regarding Princess Kate's appearance with Donald Trump today. The Princess of Wales looked radiant as she welcomed the US President at the Walled Garden inside Windsor Castle just before noon.
Kate looked stunning in the colour of the season as she sported a new, bespoke maroon dress by Emilia Wickstead, which she paired with a colour-matching hat by Jane Taylor. According to royal fashion pages online, the dress is a new piece worn by the princess, who has donned very similar designs and colours before.
And royal fans were not in favour of her opting to wear a new outfit, which bears such a striking resemblance to ones she has previously worn.
One user wrote on Instagram: "Honestly thought she was wearing a repeat but it's more 'new same but different'! Looks nice but she has outfits like this could have easily reworn."
A second one agreed: "Agree...to me.. it's a waste of money. I know it's not my money. But..having something I. Same colour as the other 2 coat dressers. And a new hat... when she already had 2 or 3 the same..she could have gone with a repeat or a new outfit in different a different colour..."
A third one said: "Totally agree - re new same but different vibes!"
Meanwhile, a fourth user added: "Always the same kind of clothing. How boring!"
A fifth one said: "I thought it was a repeat because it feels like I've seen it before."
Another one commented: "It's like 'rinse and repeat' if the State is paying its definitely new...this is 'same but different' could be so many other outfits just a different shade. Yes, it's appropriate, looks nice etc but also given the state of our economy. If it's got to be new, maybe something different."
