The yearly UK festival season is about to get into full swing. Glastonbury kicks off later this week with this huge music showcase then followed by other events across the whole of the UK. If you happen to be heading to a field in Somerset and want to keep those social media posts flowing, you are definitely going to need a power bank. Even the best and biggest smartphones - such as the Galaxy S25 Ultra or iPhone 16 Plus - are only likely to last a day, and running low on juice will not only mean the end of calling friends and family but also losing access to all-important apps such as TikTok, Instagram and Facebook.

There are loads of different power banks on the market, so to help you choose the best accessory, Express.co.uk has been checking out the latest battery boosters and here are our top picks - including two that stand out from the crowd thanks to their neat kickstands.

If you have an iPhone 12, 13, 14, 15 or 16 model, this MagSafe power bank from Belkin is a great choice - it even has a neat kickstand! Its 5,000mAh capacity is enough to fully top up every compatible iPhone at least once, and you can use it without a cable thanks to that wireless MagSafe technology.

It's recharged via USB-C and has lights to indicate how full it is. It's good for festivals and day trips because it's small and convenient.

You can also charge both the bank and your phone at the same time, thanks to pass-through technology.

ANKER MAGGO
PRICE: £59.99 (depending on the colour) - SAVE £32

Just like the Belkin booster, the Anker MagGo features Apple's clever MagSafe technology. That means you can snap it to the back of your iPhone for an instant refill and without the need for cables. There's also a screen on the side which shows how much juice is left in its tank.

Another thing we like is its built-in kickstand. Just pop it out, and your device will sit neatly beside your sleeping bag at night.

Other features incude a 10,000mAh battery (enough for two iPhone refills) and speedy boosting. It also comes in numerous colours including Black, Blue and Pink.

Mophie is well known for making some of the best portable chargers in the business. One we've always liked is the Encore.

Not only does it feature a massive 20,000mAh battery (enough for multiple refills), but it also gets built-in cables, which means there's no need to carry around wires in your bag.

There are lights to show how much power is left, and it will easily boost both smartphones and tablets.

ANKER LAPTOP POWER BANK
PRICE: £69.99 - SAVE £20

This charger from Anker does exactly what it says on the tin and can refill a laptop thanks to its huge 25,000mAh battery. It will, of course, recharge your smartphone multiple times and even features a large display showing when it will run out.

There are retractable cables for easier refills, and it's small enough to pop in a rucksack.

It also features two ports so you can charge multiple gadgets at the same time.

There are so many power banks on the market that it can be hard to know what is best for you. One of the most important things to watch out for is the size of the battery inside. If you are heading to Glastonbury for 4 days, you're going to need an accessory that can offer at least two refills. As a guide, most smartphones have a battery size of around 4,000mAh. So, if you want two refills, you'll want a 10,000mAh power bank.

The other thing to be wary of is buying very cheap boosters. Batteries can be dangerous if they overheat so always make sure you buy from a reputable firm such as Mophie, Anker or Belkin.

JUICE POWER BANK
PRICE: £14.99

If you simply want a cheap and cheerful charger then this little booster from Juice should do the trick. It costs under £15 and even features a screen for data on how much power is left.

With a 5,000mAh power pack inside you'll probably only get one full phone refill but it might just get you through the weekend if you are careful.
