As the tensions between India and Pakistan are on the rise, many celebs have come out in support of our country’s Armed Forces. Alia Bhatt took to her social media and said, “I salute our armed forces today and every day. Jai Hind.” While Alia may have come out in support, her mother Soni Razdan has shared a peace petition on her social media, urging people to sign it in order for both the countries to stop the war-like situation.
Soni shared the petition on Instagram with the caption, “all – PEACE ☮️ ✌️ Sign the petition. " She mentioned the link of the petition in her bio. While it already has four thousand verified signs, Soni got trolled for this.
This petition has been started by some Indian and some Pakistani activists together and it read, “We, peace activists from India, Pakistan and elsewhere, categorically condemn every form of violent extremism and terrorism. We particularly condemn the targeting of unarmed civilians, for any reason, including as a means to achieve political ends."
A reddit user shared this and here’s how netizens reacted. A user said, “Oh, I didn’t know it takes a petition to make Pakistan stop attacking Indian civilians, else we all have done this long back. Why are Indian forces wasting all the money and risking their lives to save people? They should just sign her petition." Another person said, “As if that is going to accomplish anything."
Someone commented, “Oh no. She has spoken. Everybody, it’s over. There’s an online petition now!!" Another comment read, “Everybody is like – it’s Alia’s mother and Mahesh Bhatt Ji’s wife, so let’s stop this war." A user said, “Indian Army better buck up if they want to win this war. Once Soni Razdan reaches 1000 signatures, the Indian Army will have to retreat cos of her pressure 🙄."
