Several social media users in China have come in support of Tesla CEO Elon Musk amid the ongoing feud with President Donald Trump over the ‘ One Big Beautiful Bill ’. According to a report by The Guardian, hours after the US Senate passed the bill, the hashtag #MuskWantsToBuildAnAmericaParty went viral on Chinese microblogging platform Weibo, garnering over 37 million views. Musk has previously said that if the Senate passed the One Big Beautiful Bill, he will found a new political party.
What Chinese social media users are saying about Musk-Trump fight
“If Elon Musk were to found a political party, his tech-driven mindset could inject fresh energy into politics. The potential for change is significant – and worth watching,” wrote one Weibo user as quoted in The Guardian report.
Another user wrote: “Brother Musk, you’ve got over a billion people on our side backing you.” “When you’ve had enough, there’s no need to keep putting up with it,” wrote a third.
While other users commented that Trump and Musk should grow up. One user joked saying “Every day, Musk is basically live-streaming ‘How Billionaires Argue’”.
“These two grown men argue nonstop over the smallest things – and the whole world ends up knowing about it,” said another user.
Elon Musk-Donald Trump renewed tension
Tensions between the two escalated after Musk said that if the “One Big, Beautiful Bill” is passed in the Senate, he will immediately move forward with launching a new political party called the “America Party.” Trump hit back with ‘deport Elon Musk’ remarks, accusing Elon Musk of benefiting more from government subsidies than any individual in US history.
Trump argued that without this taxpayer-funded support, Musk would be unable to continue manufacturing electric cars, launching rockets, or operating satellite services. Trump wrote, “Our Country would save a FORTUNE”, adding “Perhaps we should have DOGE take a good, hard, look at this? BIG MONEY TO BE SAVED!!!”.
Responding to Trump, Musk wrote on X: “So tempting to escalate this. So, so tempting. But I will refrain for now”.
