Apple recently rolled its the second Developer Beta of iOS 26. Now a report by MacRumours suggests that the latest beta confirms the existence of iPhone 17 Air . As per the report, the developers have discovered a new version of Apple’s popular clownfish wallpaper at a resolution 1260 x 2736 pixels — a size that doesn’t match any current iPhone model.
The resolution of the wallpaper also aligns with the earlier predictions made by Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo . Kuo suggested that iPhone 17 Air is said to feature a 6.6-inch display with a super-thin chassis. This means that the upcoming iPhone 17 Air is said to fall in between the iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Pro in terms of its size.
It is expected that the iPhone 17 Air will replace the Plus variant in the Apple lineup. The phone is said to offer a 6.6-inch display. The analyst suggests that Apple may use a 3 nanometer A19 chipset, similar to the A18 Pro in the iPhone 16 Pro models. The processor may be paired with 8GB of RAM. The smartphone is tipped to feature an Aluminum body. The device is said to come with a lightweight design as compared to the titanium Pro models.
Apple iPhone 17 Air launch
The report further stated that the device will be priced lower than the Pro lineup, which starts at $999 in the US. While there is no official confirmation from the company, it is likely that Apple may debut the iPhone 17 Air in September 2025.
