FBI director Kash Patel appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee, facing questions about Charlie Kirk investigation among many other things. But as he swore in before the questioning, social media users noticed that, probably, the FBI director was wearing a Liverpool FC tie.
"Kash Patel wearing a Liverpool FC tie to his senate hearing….very professional," one commented. "I can't quite tell, but I think Kash Patel is wearing a Liverpool FC tie at this hearing right now?" another wrote.
This is, however, nothing new for Patel as he wore the same tie earlier as well, making sure that everyone knows that he is a Liverpool fan. The red and white tie has the Livebird, the mythical bird that serves as the iconic symbol of the city of Liverpool and features prominently on the club's jersey and other merchandise. He once called it his lucky tie.
Kash Patel has been facing flak over what critics, including MAGA insiders, called misstep,s but the FBI director called transparency -- in the aftermath of Charlie Kirk's assassination.
Hours after Kirk was shot at Utah Valley University, Kash Patel announced that a subject was in custody in connection with the Kirk shooting, only to confirm later that the subject was released after investigation, as he was not involved in it. While this was seen as 'ameturish' by experts who accused Patel of jumping the gun to take credit, Patel defended his action and said he was informing the public what the FBI was up to.
Epstein was not an FBI source, Kash Patel informs Congress
The Republican chairman of the committee, Chuck Grassley, asked Patel if Epstein was an asset for the US or a foreign government, and for specific names of agencies or other countries he may have worked for. Patel said he kows for sure that Epstein was not a source for the FBI.
